Follow your heart this Valentine's Day

I'm using Valentine's day as an excuse to blog about heart-shaped or heart patterned makeup.

Let's take a look at some of the most beautiful.

Shiseido InteGrate Pure Big Eyes and InteGrate Rainbow Grade Eyes

Shiseido Integrate have not just one, but two collections of heart eyeshadow palettes: Pure Big Eyes and Rainbow Grade Eyes.

Pure Big Eyes have four little hearts full of shadows.

Rainbow Grade Eyes look gorgeous and sparkly as well. Luckily, you can see swatches of all of these over at Palm Girl Shop here.

Physicians Formula Happy Booster

Physicians Formula Happy Booster has a tonne of heart products: blush, bronzer, and lipstick.

Kiss Mix Heart Cheeks

Blushes available from Kiss Cosmetics. How cute are these?

For more on these check out my earlier blog posts here

Lavshuca Candy Pop Shadow

Lavschuca have also just released some eyeshadow singles with lovely little heart impressions on the shadow!

Well, those were the cutest heart-shaped makeup products I could find. What do you think? Will you be treating yourself or someone special to some beauty products this Valentine's Day or is the whole holiday not really your thing?

Personally, I've never really been big on V-day. I like chocolate, and roses, don't get me wrong. And I love hearts and pink and red and all, but I just find it weird to have a day of forced romanticism. Romantic gestures are romantic because they are unexpected. If you have to wait for V-day to be romantic, well that's just lame. For me, it's just another day. But that's just me! Either way, hope you all have a great one!

Moon Crisis Power Makeup! Kiss Cosmetics Mix Heart and Mix Moon Review

For some background on Kiss cosmetics and the Mix Heart Blush and Mix Moon Highlighter release, please see my first part of this blog here.

So I'm excited to say that I've got my hands on a Mix Heart blush in 02 Apricot Pink and a Mix Moon highlighter in 01 Pink Sherbert.

Before I can get to my review and the swatches, I have to say that part of the appeal for these for me really was the design. I love the heart and moon motif, and as a Sailor Moon fan, it just reminds me so much of Sailor Moon and Sailor Chibi Moon's transformation brooches.

Okay, let's start with the blush: Mix Heart in 02 Apricot Pink

The blushes feature a darker colour with a lighter shimmer colour.

I would describe the two shades in Apricot Pink (02) as a peach and light pink. Both colours have a lot of shimmer. The darker colour leans to the pink side of peach, and is fairly pigmented.

Moving on to the highlighter: Mix Moon in 01 Pink Sherbert

Like the blushes, there are two shades in the Mix Moon compacts. Pink Sherbert is the lighter of the two Mix Moon compacts available. The other looked more beige to me.

I would describe the crescent moon colour as a pale pink, and the lighter shade as white. They both have a lot of shimmer. They were hard to catch on camera, but I think the swatch below does them justice.

I really enjoy using both of these. They apply really well and I find them very wearable. You might not like them if you don't like shimmer. Although you really notice the shimmer in the pan and in the swatches, because you only lightly dust it on your face, it's not that noticeable.

Each comes with a small brush which can fit inside of the clear case (no mirror) and retails for  1,200 yen (before tax) each in Japan, and are available from Ichibankao now.

I imagine you could live without these, but they are precious and not too expensive. Also they are very good quality, and I'm not disappointed with my purchases at all.

I think Sailor Moon and Sailor Chibi Moon would approve as well!

Kiss Cosmetics 10th Anniversary Mix Heart and Mix Moon releases

Kiss is a Japanese drugstore cosmetics brand which has released some lovely blushes and highlighters to celebrate their 10th anniversary!

The model looks pretty excited! Actually, she kinda reminds me of Leah Dizon, but maybe that's just me?

Mix Heart Cheeks blush is on the left and Mix Moon Highlight is on the left. They look amazing. I know it's terribly girly of me, but I'm loving it! And yes, there's a little girl inside my head jumping up and down thinking Sailor Moon would love this makeup.

Chibi Usa and Usagi would be all over these compacts

The theme for this make up is a cute and happy face. Usagi-chan would approve whole-heartedly!

The Mix Heart Cheeks blushes are adorable! There are two colours in each compact and there's a heart with the brighter shade. There are 4 colours available:

01 Dolly Pink
02 Apricot Pink
03 Fruity Orange
04 Little Rose

Kiss suggests mixing the two colours and applying in two different ways:
Cute: in a circle on the cheek
Lady-like: in a heart-shape on the cheek

The Mix Moon Highlight powder is available in two shades arranged like a crescent moon:
01 Pink Sherbet
02 Pure Beige

The picture speaks for itself, but here's where Kiss recommends you apply the highlighter powder.

I can't be the only one thinking of holding one of these compacts and shouting 'Moon Prism Power, Make-up!'  Okay, maybe I am! ¬_¬

Both retail for 1,200 yen (before tax) in Japan, and are available from Ichibankao now.

I'm going to have order some of these, but I'm still deciding which ones. How about you?

Super Sailor Chibi Moon fan art by kaminary-san

Felt like sharing this beautiful fan art of Super Sailor Chibi Moon. It just seemed fitting and it's so gorgeous, isn't it?

Also, a song from Leah Dizon for good measure. Enjoy!
