Not love at first sight for eos Honeysuckle Honeydew Lip Balm
So I've heard a lot about eos lip balms. A lot of very good things. So I was really looking forward to trying this!
I bought mine from Cute Cosmetics for £5.95 and went with Organic Honeysuckle Honeydew, they also have Lemon Drop, Medicated Tangerine, Strawberry Sorbet, Summer Fruit, and Passion Fruit varieties. Honeysuckle is one of my favourite scents, so I though this would be my best choice.
I've seen lots of reviews of the funny shape of this already, so I wasn't surprised here. It was as expected... and yes, it smells like a combo of honeysuckle and honeydew melon.... but but but... I just don't love it.
I'm sorry. It's not bad. It's just all right. I'm not sure if I am missing something, but I was expecting something amazing the way people have been going on about these balms. I was actually rather disappointed.
It did glide on smoothly, and was okay on my lips. I didn't find it incredibly moisturizing or anything. Well, not anymore so than Chapstick. Don't get me wrong, Chapstick is good too, but it's not exactly a new thing, so I guess I was expecting more.
I wouldn't say it's a bad product, but I just expected a whole lot more. I won't be repurchasing this, and it's definitely not knocked my Fresh Sugar as my 'I can't live without' lip balm.
Anyone else agree or disagree? I'd love to hear what you guys think of eos lip balms!

Sephora wishes me a Happy Birthday with a duo of Fresh Sugar Lip Balms
Who doesn't love Sephora? I know I do! And guess what? Sephora loves me back. Okay, so I think they love all their customers, but I'm cool with that too. If you're a member of their Beauty Insider (it's free to join and you earn points towards bonus samples and limited editions), they remember your birthday!
Yep, that's right! Stop by during your birthday month and get a present! I think this is great and I'm exceptionally lucky as my birthday falls in January, so I can actually pop into a Sephora (the rest of the year I'm in exile in the Sephora-less England). Awesome.
So what did Sephora give me for my birthday? A mini lip treatment duo from Fresh Sugar including a regular clear lip treatment and a tinted rose colour lip treatment. It claims to 'nourish, protect, and perfect your pout with a blend of skin-softening sugar, moisturizing seed oils, and antioxidant-rich vitamins.' Sounds good to me!
These are like a lip balm and my lips really love them. I would have swatched them, but one is clear and the tinted one is so lighted tinted it doesn't really show up, so I couldn't be bothered. Sorry! Fresh have several other shades on their website and when these babies run out, I'm tempted to check out the darker passion colour to see if that shows on my lips!
These also have a really familiar scent and taste. I can't remember what it's called, but a good friend of mine years ago recommended something that smelled like this to use whenever you felt ill. Maybe it almost reminds me slightly of Vicks Vapour Rub? Hm.
Oh well, either way, I'm pretty pleased. I really like the small sizes, and actually probably prefer it to the full size lip treatment. It's exactly what my lips need during the dry winter!
