DKNY gets it right with Saffiano Satchel

This red leather handbag (Saffiano Satchel) from DKNY has caught my eye.

Isn't it lovely? Sadly (well to me, anyway), it only comes in one colour - red. I do like it in red, but I also like a choice of colour. Oh well, it's not very cheap at $295.00 US or £277.83.

I know, this is my favourite type of handbag. I just love a good bowling bag or whatever you want to call it. Altho, not sure I'd wear it with the strap, but that's just me. 

It was these two ads from DKNY featuring Cara Delevingne where my eyes were just drawn to this bag. Actually, I like these adverts a lot. There's something really bright and lively that I love about them. The primary colours and the lively city background. Plus I love her hair.

Futuristic metallics for Burberry Spring/Summer 2013

This Spring/Summer 2013 for Burberry features some serious metal work!

Bright Metallic Trench Coat, £1,995

They look futuristic and kinda funky, but there is something I really like about this look.

What a price tag tho! I love the metallic trench above. It comes in a range of brilliant jewel shades, and I would love to get my hands on the 'ink' colour.

Actually, I think I want that purple trench on the male model. Looks like tin foil. Love it.  

I'm less sure about the turtle neck or the dress shirt tho...

For the more shy, you could still rock the metallic look with a handbag instead.

Have you seen these Candy handbags from Furla?

They kind of remind of those see-through handbags you used to see some shop employees carrying  way back when I was in high school. Well, they remind of a way cooler version of that.

At $228 US or £185 a pop for these sweets, you'd expect more than just a plastic bag. These come in a rainbow of colours.

So, what do you think? I think they look really cool. I'm a fan of this shape for handbags. They are also really sturdy, and the PVC makes them ideal for rainy city living. Also, I think it's a cool alternative to leather, if that's your thing. The downside for me is I'm not really sure I can handle paying £185 for a plastic bag.

I guess until I make my mind up I'll stick to this mini version. It's actually a keychain replica of the candy handbag (£40.00). Adorable.

Samantha Thavasa handbags for the grown-up girly girl

Sorry, I've been a bit behind on blogging. I've had a busy last few weeks. First there was a tiring work trip that involved me standing for 3 days straight and giving up my weekend. Let me just applaud any of you who work in retail or are on your feet all day. It's so unbelievably tiring! Then straight back to work, and decided to take a day off to relax... and pow! Had some killer back pain, like you wouldn't believe! I've been through resting and now trying to build up my back muscles again, sigh. Hopefully in time to go on a *much* needed holiday in the Canaries next week.

Phew, that was a lot to get through! So I hope you will forgive me for being a bit quiet. I'm sure you understand, that just sometimes, life gets in the way. It's unavoidable.

Anyway, on to today's blog, I wanted to share another Japanese brand with you all: Samantha Thavasa.

Samantha Thavasa is a Japanese handbag brand that capitalizes on its foreign sounding name, appealing to young working women, school girls, and maybe even hip housewives (if I may!). The handbag ranges are usually modeled by foreign celebrities such as Nikki and Paris Hilton, Miranda Kerr, Beyonce, and Victoria Beckham.

They are rather expensive, but I fell in love with some big boxy beauties last time I was in Japan (oh dear, that was 2008, I believe!). I still keep an eye on the range, and thought I'd share some with you today. I suspect, unless you've spent some time in Japan, you probably won't have heard of Samantha Thavasa before (altho, they apparently have an outlet in the US now! Anyone been?)

Personally, I really love the little girly attention to detail such as the ribbions, the hearts, and sparkles that feature in the designs. It's something that's still considered acceptable in Japan for business women to still maintain those little elements of cute or kawaii while still being grown-up at the same time.
